FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why did we change from accepting year
6 - 13 players to participate?

We identified that players had been skipping and missing our Player Development Programme, therefore players were not ready developmentally or mentally for our skill sessions.

Player Development Programme in the New Year is for all Year 7 & 8 players.

Player Academy Programme is for all U16 and U18 players.

Year 6 players come under the futureFERNs programme and In School Programme.

If my child does not turn 12 this year, can they still register?

Minimum age to register for Satellite Cup is 12 years old and maximum age is 14 years old. Players must not be turning 15 in 2026.

The reason for this is it aligns with representative eligilbility.

Why only 4 weeks of sessions from the 6 weeks?

Based on feedback received from previous years, 4 weeks was recommended to be more suited due to school camps and prizegivings happening in December.

What does the fee include?

The registration fee covers venue hire, first aid, equipment, resources and hand outs, facilitators, player and tournament costs.

This fee cannot be partially charge it is a set price.

How will I know if a session is cancelled? And what will happen with the cancelled session?

A decision will be made by 2pm on the day of the session. Cancellations will go live on our Facebook page. If you also head to our website you will find on the homepage a red banner that runs across the top of the page which will have recent cancellations for the day.
