2026 Yo -Yo Testing 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

All Yo-Yo tests are now required to be ran from Netball Taranaki and will be facilitatored by our Development Officer - Tamara Knapman, if extra support is required Netball Taranaki will invite facilitators from the approved list. 

There will be no results accepted outside of testing dates provided from Netball Taranaki.

Umpires prior to screening for NZ C or NZ B, including endorsement must achieve a 14.3 or more.

All other Umpires are recommended to achieve a minimum 13.2.

Umpiring is essential to keep order within a game. It is an engaging way to maintain fun on the court in a safe way. From beginners to NZ level umpires, it is a perfect way to be involved.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced umpire, in order to umpire netball here in Taranaki you need to be registered. Please see information below on how to get registered.

All teams in our competitions/programmes need to supply an umpire. This includes Satellite Netball, futureFERNs (years 7 and 8), Summer and Spring League.

Umpire coaches are available to support you through your umpire journey.

 All Taranaki Umpires Must Be Registered

To become registered you must:

  • Pass the Netball NZ Learning to Umpire Module (replaces online Centre Theory test). 
  • ​​​​​​​Attend a Good Call Rules class (online or face to face facilitated by Netball Taranaki

Registered Umpire qualifications are valid for 4 Years from the date of completion, unless there is a major rule change by World Netball then an update will be required.

We accept requests for a Good Call Rules workshop, this does require a minium number of attendees. We can help advertise if this is an option you are wanting, just let us know.

2. Proceed to log-In OR register if you don't have an account (it is free)

3. At the top select 'Search Learning', then in the drop-down select the 'Netball NZ catalogue  

4. Find the 'Learning to Umpire 2025' course and enroll 

5. Complete the module and send a copy of your certificate to ndot@netballtaranaki.org.nz ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
