Bayleys premier netball teams have plenty to play for in the final week of the regular season.
All divisions have a similar points table with an outright leader. But places still up for grabs when the final round starts on Thursday and Friday night in New Plymouth and Stratford.
In premier one, Tysons Toa comfortably sit in first place with an eight-point lead over Inglewood Summit. Both have locked in a play-off berth.
New Plymouth Old Boys are comfortably in third place, but the final position will be between Inglewood Aspiring and Stratford/Eltham as teams sit one point apart. Thursday night will be Raukura’s final match of the season with a winless campaign from nine matches.
In premier two, Naumai Metcalf Real Estate is first with a 12-point lead over second place Sacred Heart Girls College.
Six points then separate Sacred Heart, Tukapa, The Locals and Tysons Korimako. Naumai’s second team Steve Gray Plasterers only picked up a solitary point.
Bell Block Marist Dragons lead premier three with 54 points and an unbeaten record this season.
Tukapa and Inglewood will fight for second and third place while New Plymouth Girls’ High School are likely to secure fourth spot given Stratford/Eltham are seven points behind them.
Hawera High School’s eleven points for the season isn’t good enough to secure a semi-final spot next week.
Semi-finals for premier one and three will be played at the TSB Stadium next Thursday and premier two play-offs at Hawera’s TSB Hub on Friday night.
Finals are scheduled for Saturday, June 11 at the TSB Stadium, two months earlier than last year. A decision was made to cut the grading round at the beginning of the season and therefore shaved the season by a quarter.
