New Plymouth Girls' High School defender Parris Mason has been named in the NZ Secondary Schools Squad. The 2019 New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) team will be chosen from these 22 players by the end of April.

The Emerging Talent Selection Panel, including Adrienne Morrin, Charissa Barham, Paula Smith and Jen Hooper, selected the squad from a number of NZ age-group tournaments and camps, including January's National Development Camp in Palmerston North that Parris attended and various secondary school tournaments last year.

Parris enjoyed a stellar 2018 as part of the New Plymouth Girl's High team that finished 6th at the NZ Secondary Schools Netball Champs and won Taranaki's Premier 2 competition. Parris was named in the tournament team of the NZ Secondary Schools Netball Champs.
