In Shona's words

I began my new role as Interim GM last week and have spent the first week meeting the team and getting up to speed.

I have to confess to not being a netball player. I did play a very long time ago for an Eltham team and then for Rawhitiroa at the Stratford courts on a Saturday morning. I was never very competitive, but it was fun. Years later I also played for a work social club team, in Hawera - not the wisest exercise for an unfit 40-year-old. A lot has changed since then, but it is great to see the dedication of the many players, coaches, officials and supporters as they compete and enjoy the game each week, has not.

My interim role for Netball Taranaki is for 20 (or so) hours a week, until a new GM is recruited. As mentioned in the last newsletter, I have a consulting and training business and have been contracted for a few interim management roles as organisations in the past as they are going through a change.

In this role, I will be supporting the team as they continue to organise competitions and run their development programmes. I am impressed by the level of activity undertaken by the team and look forward to learning more about how everything works.
