Upcoming Workshop

For many netball clubs and players, trials and selections have crept up on us once more, bringing with them great opportunities for players to demonstrate their improvement over the seasons, as well as for clubs to identify new and exciting talent to bring into their netball program.

Inevitably, it’s also one of the most challenging times of the year, with selectors and coaches making tough decisions. Netball Taranaki is facilitating a Netball New Zealand Accredited Selecting workshop, that will  provide various selecting techniques, trial requirements and what to look at in a player for team selections.

Date: Thursday 15th December

Time: 6.00pm

Where: Via Zoom

Costs: FREE

Registrations are currently closed for the selecting workshop. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page and website for more information.

Selecting

For many netball clubs and players, trials and selections have crept up on us once more, bringing with them great opportunities for players to demonstrate their improvement over the seasons, as well as for clubs to identify new and exciting talent to bring into their netball program.

Inevitably, it’s also one of the most challenging times of the year, with selectors and coaches making tough decisions.

Becoming a selector involves identifying the best athletes from a pool to fulfil a position, description and skill specifications with consideration given to short and long-term objectives. Selectors play a vital part in the selecting of teams whether it be for a school, club, representative and tournament teams.
